Searsport Holds Public Hearings on Propane Tank

Searsport - The Searsport planning board will hold a series of public hearing on the proposed 40-million-dollar propane tank next week.

Starting on Monday, the public will be able to voice their thoughts on the tank, designed to hold 22.7 million gallons.

The planning board hearings begin at 6:00PM in the Searsport District High School cafeteria.

The forum runs through Thursday the 29th.

The planning board does not actually decide if the plan goes through, but will determine if it the plan is in compliance with the town's performance standards.

In October, the town's planning board determined the company DCP Midstream successfully completed its application to build a 22.7 million gallon tank at Mack Point.
