UPDATE: Woman Killed in Hermon Crash

Hermon - A woman who had just moved from Penobscot to Levant was killed in a crash Thursday night in Hermon.

It happened just before midnight on Union Street.

Chief Deputy Troy Morton with the Penobscot County Sheriff's Department says Retha Thomas, 50, was killed when the truck she was driving went off the road, rolling over. She was tossed from the truck and pinned under it.

Her 18-year-old daughter was also in the pickup. She has been treated and released from a hospital.

We're told fog and black ice contributed to the crash.

Neither of the women were wearing seat belts.
