A local man noticed a need for more blood donors, so he decided to put on a fun blood drive.
Michael Olsen cam up with the Bands for Blood Blood Drive.
He transports blood from Bangor to Portland, and realized donations were dwindling.
He's gotten several bands on board for the blood drive and is looking for even more.
The members will donate blood and play some tunes.
He's hoping a lot of people will show their support.
" I'm encouraging karaoke players to come, bring your fans with ya and bring your family members, whoever can donate. It's not just for the bands, it's for whoever can come," said Michael Olsen, blood drive organizer.
Olsen hopes to make Bands for Blood an annual event.
The blood drive is Saturday, December 1st from 8am to 2pm at the Bangor Donor Center on Hammond Street.
