Skowhegan -
Dozens of people enjoyed a free Thanksgiving dinner in Skowhegan Thursday.
Turkey and all of the fixings were served up at the Skowhegan Community Center.
This is the second year for the event, which is open to anyone in the area.
The Skowhegan Parks and Rec Director, Denise LeBlanc, and her assistant came up with the idea as a way to bring the community together.
Volunteers spent hours getting all of the food together.
But they say they're glad to do it.
LeBlanc says "We had about 100 people here last year, everybody enjoyed themselves. I think it was more personal with people actually here, there's a lot of people that don't have family. A lot of them stayed here all day because of that reason, some just don't have family to eat Thanksgiving with."
Organizers hoped to serve even more people this year.
All of the food was donated by local businesses.
Community center staff and volunteers spent all of Wednesday getting everything ready for the dinner.
