The community helped 'Free the Z" Thursday night.
"Kid" from Z107.3 braved the cold weather and sat in the Brewer Hannaford's parking lot since Tuesday morning.
His goal was to collect over 2,012 turkeys to donate to Manna Ministries. He didn't move until the goal was met and surpassed.
According to the radio station's website, they collected 2,606 turkeys over the course of the 3 days and are even looking to raise the bar next year.
"Kid" said "We met everyone from school kids, to veterans, to businesses. I can't say thank you enough. We look forward to doing it again."
Manna isn't done collecting the birds just yet, they want to have 6,700 hundred by Thanksgiving.
TV 5 will be holding our Manna Turkey Telethon Thursday during out 5:00pm and 6:00pm newscasts.
