Local Radio Host Camps Out for Turkeys

Brewer - Once again the community is helping to "Free the Z," and making sure lots of families will enjoy this Thanksgiving holiday.

"Kid" from radio station Z-107.3 began his campout in the Brewer Hannaford parking lot, in the hopes of collecting 2012 turkeys.

He says he's not going anywhere until that goal is met.

The turkeys go to Manna Ministries to distribute.

Manna has requests for 6,700 birds this year.

"Its fantastic for the community and this gets a little bit bigger and a little bit better every year, and it makes you feel good. We've seen so many little kids who save their money and staff and businesses who challenge each other. So, people get into not only the spirit of the holiday of giving, but it makes it a lot of fun to be here too," Kid commented on the fundraiser.

If you'd like to donate, the Z-107.3 morning show is camping out in the Hannaford's parking lot at 383 Wilson Street, Brewer.

You can also help make your neighbor's Thanksgiving holiday a special one when you tune in to our 5:00 and 6:00 PM newscasts this Friday night.

We'll be taking donations over the phone to help Manna help our neighbors in need.
