Bangor -
Manna Ministries in Bangor is hoping you'll find it in your heart to help out those less fortunate.
They're again collecting turkeys to hand out to the community as well as area food pantries.
Manna has requests for 6,700 turkeys this year and as of November 12th, only 100 had been donated.
Executive Director Bill Rae says folks may be surprised to find out just who is signing up for the Thanksgiving dinners this year.
"It's you and I that this year are just really struggling and they need a turkey," says Rae. "You know, a turkey is not a big thing but it really helps provide hope, maybe that things are okay today, that they can sit down and have dinner together."
You can drop off turkeys, gift cards or other donations any time of day at Manna Ministries. They're located at 629 Main Street in Bangor.
Or you can call TV5 this Friday night during our annual Turkey Telethon.
Folks will be manning the phones to take your pledges live during our 5 and 6pm newscasts.

Video: World's vegetation seen in stunning satellite imagery
While 75 percent of the planet is a relatively unchanging shade of ocean blue, the remaining surface goes through stages of green. In this NASA/NOAA imagery capturing April 2012 to April 2013, the darkest green areas are the lushest in vegetation, while the lightest could be snow covered, drought impacted or just un-vegetated rock.
