Bangor -
Lunch was on the house for Veterans in Bangor Monday, the Texas Roadhouse.
For the second straight year the Texas Roadhouse restaurant fed vets for free.
Last year about 6-hundred people enjoyed the veterans lunch, and the restuarant's managing parter John Hafford expected to meet or exceed that number this year, and to help with coverage extra staff was brought in to help serve those who have served.
According to Hafford the restaurant picking up the tab for lunch just made sense. "it's a great way to say thank you, with having the base right up here close, we're so close to the troop greeters as well to that come in, there's not enough you can say if you haven't served, or to be able to thank the people that are serving just go that extra mile and say 'You know what, we appreciate it.' "
Texas Roadhouse supports a number of US Military programs like the USO, and Home for the Troops.
