Cynthia Dill, the unsuccessful Democratic candidate in last week's U.S. Senate election, has been invited by Glamour magazine to attend its "Women of the Year" awards in New York City.
Monday's awards salute women candidates from the recent election.
Dill plans to travel to New York for the evening gala. Glamour says Chelsea Clinton will emcee its salute to women, and that Dill will be introduced by Clinton.
Dill and about a dozen other women will be recognized for their commitment to public service.
Dill, who's served in the Maine House and Senate, was among the six candidates in the U.S. Senate election, which was won by independent Angus King.
