Prospect -
One man is dead after an accident in Prospect Thursday.
Waldo County Sheriff's officers responded to a report of a three car accident on Route 1 just before 6:30 p.m.
A passenger told police that 79-year old William Dunham crossed into their path.
He was prounounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other car, 64-year old Powell Johnson of Frankfort was taken to the hospital with what's described as critical injuries. His wife, 49-year old Susan Powell was also taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
Police say the two cars were already involved in an accident when a third vehicle came upon the scene.
The driver of that third car was unable to stop in time to avoid the other vehicles.
That driver was uninjured.
Police are still investigating, it is unknown if the weather was a factor in the crash.
