Cole Land Transportation Museum Honors Bangor Veterans

Bangor - Veteran's Day is this weekend and a Bangor museum is preparing to thank the greatest generation.

On Monday, the Cole Land Transportation Museum will unveil a granite monument honoring the 112 Bangor men killed during World War II.

Thursday afternoon, organizers recognized local businesses and residents who made the project a reality.

Purple Heart recipient Galen Cole says their generosity will make this year's Veteran's Day one to remember. "No Veteran's Day has ever been more exciting to this museum that this one because we finally placed this memorial to Bangor veterans. 112 of them were killed in World War II."

The monument will be unveiled in a dedication ceremony at the Cole Land Transportation Museum on Monday at 1:00 PM.
