Bangor -
A man in prison for murder during a street fight in Bangor two years ago is asking Maine's highest court to overturn his sentence.
21-year-old Zachary Carr was sentenced last year to 35 years for killing John "Bobby" Surles in January 2010.
Carr claims a lower court made mistakes, including not granting him a new trial based on the state's failure to disclose a recorded interview with a key witness.
His lawyer says that information could have bolstered Carr's claim that he acted in self defense.
The Maine Supreme Court heard the appeal Thursday.
There's no timetable for the justices to make their decision.
