Dozens of Power Company Crews Head Out of State to Help After Hurricane Sandy

3

About 100 power company workers in Maine are heading out of state to help in the Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts.

Workers from Bangor Hydro and Maine Public Service are on their way to Kingston, Rhode Island.

We're told 22 truck operators, mechanics and supervisors are assigned to the job.

Central Maine Power is sending out crews, too.

Between 70 and 80 workers are going to Connecticut, which includes 28-bucket trucks.

They'll be leaving from Kennebunk Friday morning.

Most of the workers are being told to prepare to be gone for about a week.
