Winterport Water District Honors Late Community Leader

3

Winterport - The town of Winterport is dedicating an important piece of the community to a beloved resident.

The Board of Trustees from the Winterport Water District are honoring Don Weston by dedicating a pumping station to him and his wife. Weston was a long time member of the water district trustees.

On Thursday, colleagues shared stories about their old friend and his dedication to the town. The newly named Don Weston Pumping Station is just a few hundred feet from the place Weston called home. Chairmen of the Winterport Water District Board of Trustees, Steven Long, said "Their property is amongst the property the district owns. They've been generous over the years to let us use the road."

Teddy Weston, Don's Widow, accepted the plaque on her husbands behalf. Mrs. Weston is following in her husbands footsteps. She is a member of the Winterport Historical Society.
