22 Year Old Taken To Hospital After Accident In Carmel

3

Carmel - An early morning accident on the Five road in Carmel Wednesday sent one man to the hospital.

22 year old Brandon Dupois was driving along the Five road near the intersection with the Fuller Road when he crossed the center line and went off the opposite side of the road.

The car went down an embankment and hit a tree and spun around.

Crews were called out around four o'clock this morning, and had to use the jaws of life to cut Dupois out of the car.

"The occupant was trapped inside the vehicle, Carmel as well as Levant rescue was able to extricate the subject from the vehicle and taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center through LifeFlight," said Penboscot County Sheriff's Deputy Edward Toulouse. "The subject appears to have very serious injuries we're unsure of his status at this time."

Crews worked to reconstruct the scene of the accident.

There is no word on what caused it to happen.

We'll pass along more details as they come in.
