HMS Bounty Replica Sinks in Rough Seas

A replica of the HMS Bounty that was docked at the public landing in Belfast in August, and in Eastport last month, has sunk in rough seas off the North Carolina coast.

The Coast Guard rescued 14 crew members after the Bounty began taking on water, but two crew members are unaccounted for.

The Coast Guard is using a helicopter and an airplane to search for them.

Officials say they are in survival suits designed to keep them afloat and protect them against cold waters for about 15 hours.

The ship was built in 1960 for the Marlon Brando film, Mutiny on the Bounty.

Since then it has starred in other movies including Treasure Island, Yellowbeard, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
