Palmyra Accident Alcohol and Speed Considered Factors in Crash

Palmyra - A Skowhegan man was injured Sunday afternoon, when his car went off the road in Palmyra. Police believe speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash.

It happened around 2:30 pm on Route Two.

Authorities say, 21 year old Derek Cronkite went off the left side of the road and hit a mailbox. He then overcorrected and went off the other side of main street. Cronkite's car reportedly hit a telephone pole wire, rolled over twice and ended up on its roof in some tres.

Cronkite was taken to the hospital with possible head injuries as well as other cuts. No word yet on his condition Monday morning.
