Crash on Route 17 in Union Sends Two to Hospital

Union - Two people were hurt in a crash on Route 17 in Union on Saturday morning. It happened around 7:00 AM at the intersection of North Union Road.

Knox County Sheriff Deputies say a teenage driver from Waldoboro drove into the path of another car driven by 59-year-old Dianne Collins of Rockland. We're told Collins was unable to avoid a crash and hit the other car broadside on the driver's side door.

Collins and the teen were taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center. Deputies say Collins was listed in stable condition and the teen was listed in more serious condition.

We're told both were using seatbelts at the time of the crash.
