Zombies Rule the Streets in Downtown Bangor

3

Bangor - The walking dead took is taking over Bangor on Saturday.

Hundreds came out to take part in the 2nd annual Bangor Zombie Walk. Hordes of zombies in tattered clothes and fake blood marched their way through downtown.

These zombies also came out for a good cause. Donations were accepted for Neurofibromatosis, a disease that causes tumors to grow in the nervous system.

Founder of Bangor Zombie, Philip Smith, said "My dad and brother both have the disease, so it's really heartfelt for me to participate in that cause."

Some parents had expressed concerns over the zombies scaring children, but Smith said his event was not meant to cause fear and that participants followed city rules..

All the zombies that I had any encounter with were nice and really friendly. I have a three year old and 20 month old, they were both fine. My three year old even said she liked these zombies. Next year when we go to the downtown I am going to say heck with the trick or treating and just go for the zombie watching.
