Brewer -
Most of the trick or treating will happen on halloween kids were "Truck and Treating." Local Fire Departments headed to the Lafayette Family Cancer Center in Brewer as part of Eastern Maine Medical Center's "Heros, Hope and Healing" Campaign.
Over 300 children and their families came in costumes to meet their local Fire Fighters and EMT's. After a parade, the kids hit the trucks for some candy.
It's the first time the Cancer Center has done anything like this, but they say it won't be their last. President of EHMS Healthcare Charities, Michael Crowley, said "We have lots of fun for kids to get up and see trucks, meet firefighters and EMT's. And also get some treats, but all of this is to celebrate kids and children and your families in our region.
Saturday's event also celebrated the new Raish Peavey Haskell Children's Cancer and Treatment Center. After the firefighters gave away candy, they presented EMMC with their donation to the new facility.
