Maine Credit Union Kickstarts Campaign to End Hunger

Old Town - Folks got together in Old Town Thursday afternoon to take a stand against hunger.

They formed a food chain to kick off the Maine Credit Unions' campaign for ending hunger.

People passed donated items one-by-one from the credit union to Crossroads Ministries.

"More and more people are making choices between house payments, rent, gas to go to work and medicines," said Brenda Davis, Special Projects Coordinator at Crossroads Ministries. "The economy hasn't turned around here yet."

For the 11th year, she will be walking through communities across the state raising money for the cause.

She'll be in Augusta Friday and in Aroostook county next week.
