Bangor -
The head of the Bangor School District is now the best Superintendent in the state.
Dr. Besty Webb was voted 2013 Superintendent of the Year by the Maine Schools Superintendent's Association in Augusta on Wednesday. The award is based on Webb's leadership, community involvement, fiscal management, and other accomplishments. The award doesn't come as a total surprise, earlier this year Webb received an Outstanding Leadership Award for her work to improve student learning.
The Bangor School Committee will recognize Webb's accomplishment during a meeting on November 15th. All members of the Bangor Community are encouraged to attend.
