Appeal Turned Down in Orono Hit-and-Run Case

Maine's Supreme Judicial Court has turned down the appeal of a man convicted in a drunk driving hit-and-run that killed a UMaine student.

24 year-old Garrett Cheney is serving seven years for running down Jordyn Bakely of Camden on a street in Orono in January 2010.

He was convicted of manslaughter.

In his appeal, Cheney claimed there wasn't enough evidence to support the conviction.

The high court rejected his argument.
