The Elephants Arrive in Hope

Hope - The elephants have arrived in Hope.

Rosie and Opal were welcomed to their new home on Saturday.

The retired circus elephants are both suffering from joint and muscle ailments.

They'll undergo rehabilitation at the hope elephants facility, built next to the home of veterinarian Dr. Jim Laurita.

The Asian Elephants will need two to four weeks to acclimate to their new living quarters. After that, the facility plans to allow the public to visit in small groups and by appointment only.

You can watch the elephants progress on the Hope Elephants Facebook page.
