The 6-1 John Bapst Crusaders trying to stay in the hunt for the top Class C playoff spot, playing the 6-1 Orono Red Riots at UMaine.
It was a chilly night, but that didn't stop a red-hot Bapst offense. Early in the 1st, after a 70-yard touchdown to lead off the game, Austin Spencer
hits Austin Cyr for the 26-yard touchdown. Tt's 15-0 Crusaders early.
But midway through the 1st, the Red Riots get their ground game going, topped off by a Christian Mowrer 2-yard dive to the promiseland. That cut the Bapst lead to 15-6.
But this night belonging to the Crusaders. Spencer hits Andrew Catlin over the shoulder for the touchdown. Crusaders win tonight, 49-18. John Bapst finishes the regular season at 7-1, while Orono falls to 6-2. Bapst will likely be the one or two seed in the postseason, while Orono will likely be third.
