Injury Sidelines UMaine Hockey Forward Jon Swavely

3

Orono - Junior forward Jon Swavely will be out at least two months because of a torn quadricep. He was injured on a play against New Brunswick a couple weeks ago. The puck hitting his right quad muscle, where there's no padding, when he tried to block a shot. Swavely had to be helped off the ice. The winger did play in Kansas City this past weekend, but his leg swelled up, and he was diagnosed on Monday after an MRI.

Swavely had been playing on a new line with Conor Riley and his freshman brother, Steven Swavely, and told us recently how much he's enjoyed having family around.
