Date Set for the Maine Earth Science Day in Augusta

Augusta - More than 800 students, teachers and chaperones from throughout the state will be in Augusta this week for the annual Maine Earth Science Day at the state museum.

Scientists, artists, educators, and industry professionals from around Maine will participate in Wednesday's event, which will include activities such as gold panning and exploring how to quarry granite.

The museum's chief educator, Joanna Torow, says scientists and educators will show the many ways that earth science affects every aspect of our lives.
