South Thomaston -
A personal care assistant from South Thomaston will serve 3 months in jail for failing to pay state income taxes for four years.
The Attorney General says 60-year-old Gertrude Black also admitted to taking financial advantage of an elderly patient with dementia.
Black was sentenced Thursday in Rockland.
She was ordered to pay $7,086 in restitution for the back taxes.
Black was a caretaker from 2007 to 2010.
Attorney General William Schneider says during that time, Black had her patient pay for many of her personal expenses, such as her car loan, car insurance and cell phone bills.
