Bangor -
Acadia Hospital celebrated its 20th anniversary on Thursday.
To mark the occasion, the hospital unveiled a brand new sculpture on the lawn of the facility.
It was designed by a local artist as part of the Schoodic international sculpture symposium.
A donation made it possible for Acadia to acquire the piece.
The sculptor says he hopes that the design provides inspiration for those visiting the hospital.
"That means I dared to do a sculpture that exudes hope, and not false hope. That liberates me to do a lot more than I could ever want," says Andreas Van Huene.
Acadia Hospital is also promoting Mental Health Awareness Week.
To take an anonymous mental health screening visit acadiahospital.org.
