New Polls Highlight Key Races in Maine


New polls show Independent Angus King is still holding onto his lead in the race for an open U.S. Senate seat.

According to a Pan Atlantic SMS Group Poll, 50% of likely voters would vote for King, while 24% would vote in favor of Republican Charlie Summers. Cynthia Dill supporters are at 12%.

When it came to the gay marriage question, 57% of those polled said they support same-sex marriage, while 39% opposed it.

As for the 2nd Congressional District, Democrat Mike Michaud is in the lead by 29 points. 50% say they would vote for the democrat, while 29% would vote in favor of Republican Kevin Raye.

The phone poll was conducted Sept. 24-28 with 400 randomly selected likely voters.
