State GOP Leaders to Give Their Version of the Republican-Controlled Legislature Accomplishments

3

Augusta - Maine Republican legislative leaders don't like the spin they say minority Democrats are putting on the last session as the two parties tangle for control of the House and Senate.

On Tuesday, GOP leaders plan to give their version of what was accomplished during the first Republican-controlled Legislature in Maine since 1966.

Democrats aim much of their criticism at Republican Gov. Paul LePage, saying he pushed through tax cuts for the rich, cut funding for health care and worked to increase profits for insurance companies.

Republicans say Maine people and businesses benefited from the work of the 125th Legislature. Their news conference will also feature Maine business leaders who've seen improvements as a result of the Legislature's work.
