This afternoon, UMaine finishing up their first weekend of the season with an exhibition game against New Brunswick.
The Varsity Reds would get on the board first. Midway through the first period, some great passing leads to an open net for Cam Critchlow. He fires it past Marty Ouelette, who started in net for the Black Bears,
to give New Brunswick a 1-0 lead.
But later in the period, UMaine's top line lights up the lamp! Kyle Beattie buries the loose puck in front of the net to tie the game at one, after one.
2nd period and Maine on the power play. This time it's freshman Devin Shore
who puts it home for his first goal in a Black Bear uniform. That put Maine on top 2-1.
New Brunswick would tie it in the 3rd and almost win it in overtime. But the Varsity Reds are beaten by the buzzer. The referees review it and say no goal. Maine and New Brunswick skate to a 2-2 tie.
