Two people walked away with minor injuries from a plane crash in Lyman.
Authorities say a homemade ultra light crashed into some trees near the intersection of Kennebunk Pond Road and Beech Street around 8:45 on Saturday morning.
An official with the Federal Aviation Administration said the plane had taken off from Eliot and heading to Wiscasset when the pilot decided to divert to the Sanford Regional Airport because of engine problems.
The two people on board were taken to Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford with minor injuries.
The FAA says it has turned the investigation over to the National Transportation Safety Board because of the damage to the aircraft.
