U.S. Grant will Help Support Public Health Efforts


Augusta - Towns in Maine could soon be healthier.

Maine Development Foundation was awarded a grant to launch "Healthy Maine Streets." It's a program to support health and wellness in the pine tree state's small communities.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will give the Foundation over $1.641 million for the new project. With the grant, The Maine Downtown Center program will help support the efforts to reduce chronic disease and promote the benefits of wellness in Maine communities.
