Governor Issues Warrant to send Gottke back to Louisiana

3

Houlton - A Louisiana man who is in jail in Maine will be heading back to his home state.

Police arrested Benjamin Gottke, 43, in July. He was serving time for burglary in Louisiana, when he reportedly stole an unmarked cruiser and drove it to Maine.

Police arrested him after he tried to enter Canada.

Gottke has been fighting his extradition, so Governor LePage issued a governor's warrant to have him sent back to Louisiana.

Aroostook County District Attorney, Todd Collins, tells TV 5 that Louisiana officials have 30 days to come and pick Gottke up.
