Fort Kent Woman Killed in Moose Collision

Soucy Hill - A Fort Kent woman was killed this afternoon when a car collided with a moose.

This according to the Bangor Daily News.

The Aroostook County Sherrif's Dept. says the crash happened around 1:30 PM on Route 11, killing 34 year-old Cheryl Alber.

Sargent Forrest Dudley says the victim was riding in the passenger's seat of a 1982 Chevy Camaro in the Soucy Hill area.

A bull moose entered the roadway and the driver, 41 year-old Ronnie Pelletier of Allagash, couldn't avoid hitting it.

He suffered only minor injuries.

The accident is under investigation from the Sheriff's Deputy Mitchell Wheeler.
