Man Charged in Cushing Shooting to Appear in Court

A man accused of shooting and killing a man in Cushing last week will make his first court appearance Monday afternoon. 40-year old Andrew Kierstead of Tenants Harbor is charged with murder.

Police were called to Far Meadow Lane Thursday night, where they found 48-year-old Richard Mills shot to death in his driveway. The medical examiner's office said he died from multiple shotgun wounds.

Police say the two men knew each other.

Kierstead was taken to the Pen Bay Medical facility in Rockport for evaluation and was transferred to the Knox County Jail over the weekend.
