Stillwater -
The Annual Fun Dog Show took place Sunday in Old Town. There was fun for all ages and dogs won prizes for categories including cutest puppy and best trick.
All the proceeds from the event go to the Old Town Animal Orphanage , which has been closed for the past six weeks due to an unforseen medical condition affecting the animals. Organizers agree that pets are a valuable member of the family.
President of Old Town Animal Orphanage, Bobbie Fowler, said "The dog is like a child to them. We just think it's important that they recognize that we feel it's a very important part of their life and to be recognized for that."
This event is held every year during the last Sunday in September alongside Old Town's Riverfest. Earlier in the day, there was a blessing of the animals.
