Bangor Hydro Working to Restore Power to Around 1,000 Customers in Penobscot County

Bangor Hydro crews are working to restore power to just over 1,000 customers in Penobscot County late Sunday morning. The electric company reports the outages are weather related, due to heavy rain.

The affected customers are located in Hampden, Hermon, Carmel, Newburgh and Dedham. Several other smaller power outages are being addressed as well.

Customers are reminded to avoid coming in contact with fallen power lines and trees or other objects touching them. Alternate heat and power sources should be used in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines.

Customers may report outages by calling 1-800-440-1111 or online at bangorhydro.com.

Power is expected to be restored by early afternoon. Continued inclement weather conditions may cause additional power outages and delay restoration time.
