Raising autism awareness was the main focus of an event held Saturday.
The Heart of Maine Autism Fair brought vendors and keynote speakers out to help families affected by Autism.
A specialist on Autism Spectrum Disorders Dr. Kahn was there to give advice to parents of children with autism.
As more and more people become affected by this disorder, organizers say raising public awareness is crucial.
Co-coordinator for fair, Laurie Robichaud said, "These people are members of the community and just as valuable. They have a lot to give and I think that's the part that people need to know the most is that these are really valuable, special members of society."
