Eagle Scouts Construct a Veterans Memorial in Eddington

Eddington - What happens when you find out your town doesn't have their own Veterans memorial? Well one Eagle scout took matters into his own hands.

The Eddington Veterans Memorial was unveiled today, all thanks to an Eagle Scout project that began a year ago.

Community support and fundraising efforts helped pay for the new memorials and this project is the first of its kind for the area.

Eagle Scout from Troop 21, Joshua Baillargeon said, "We didn't have a way to honor our veterans in Eddington and I wanted to send a small message to them and let them know that I care and that Eddington cares about the vets we have here."

The memorials were designed by the eagle scout, who had his own connection to the project, his dad and great grandfather are both veterans.

I just want to say that this is an amazing undertaking for a 15 year old Boy Scout! He did an outstanding job designing, raising money, erecting this memorial and I think he deserves a lot more credit than he has gotten. Great job Josh!
