Republican U.S. Senate candidate Sharlie Summers met with Maine voters in Brewer tonight.
Summers is hosting a series of town hall meetings over the next five weeks called "A Conversation With Mainers".
He currently serves as Maine's Secretary Of State .
He spoke about serving in both Iraq and Afghanistan as challenges shaping his political future.
But still, Summer's says that his experience as young businessman in Bangor 30 years ago remain with him today.
"I started my career here in Bangor as the assistant manager of the Bangor Motor Inn almost 30 years ago, and I still take those experiences from here In Bangor with me today," said Summers.
Next stop on Summer's campain trail is Kennebunkport, followed by Waterville, Bath, and Portland.
