Ford Pleads Not Guilty in Federal Court

Swanville - One of four family members charged in connection with a major pot growing operation in Monroe pleaded not guilty Friday.

James F. Ford, 57, of Swanville was in federal court in Bangor.

His wife Darlene Ford, 57, and sons, Paul Ford, 32, and James T. Ford, 35, were in court earlier in the week.

They also pleaded not guilty to numerous drug charges.

They were arrested last November after state drug agents raided their home on Swan Lake Ave. and reportedly found more than $800,000 worth of pot, as well as weapons.

The parents were indicted for maintaining a drug-involved place.

The men were indicted earlier this month for conspiracy and manufacturing of 100 or more marijuana plants.

Three of the family members face weapons charges, too.

They are set to be in court in November
