Veterinarian Makes House Calls

3

Bangor - Just like a lot of humans don't like to go to the doctor's office, a lot of animals don't like to go to the vet's office.

A Bangor woman is making things a little easier for our furry friends.

At 12 years old, Daisy knows what she likes.

" I think Daisy, the dog, is more comfortable at home versus bringing her into the vet with all the other animals and different people," said Paula Fish, Daisy's owner.

Now, Daisy can stay home and get the care she needs, thanks to Tori Weston.

" I've been practicing in Bangor for 5 years and have had repeated clients ask for this service," said Tori Weston, a veterinarian.

Weston is a visiting vet.

" I think I'm the only one in the area that's actually doing house calls," said Weston. " I do mostly vaccines, just general wellness care. I can do minor illness, like skin disease."

The at-home care has helped Daisy a lot.

" Finally we know what her skin problem is and it's being treated and it seems like it's going to work," said Fish.

Weston started her business about three months ago. She also works at Hampden Veterinary Clinic and the Humane Society.

" It sounds cliché though to say I love animals, but I do and I love caring for them," said Weston with a smile.

Her clients love that they can get good care, without leaving home.

" You don't have to get in your vehicle and go, and , the animals are more comfortable, not so scared," said Fish.

" I saw a woman this morning who has 7 cats and a dog, and so it's just a lot easier to see those patients at home, versus put them in a carrier and take them in, " added Weston.

I have recently begun using Tori Weston. I am so happy to have her come to the house to take care of our GSD. He is not social, he is old and she takes the stress of taking him out of the house off of me. Fabulous Vet and happy to have found her. Thank you
