Brewer Woman Charged with Child Sex Crimes Argues to Suppress Confession

3

Brewer - A judge is considering whether a woman from Brewer accused of sex crimes against a child can keep a jury from hearing about her confession.

27-year-old Katie Dube of Brewer is charged with five counts of gross sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

She was arrested earlier this summer, along with 27-year-old Terrance Pinkham, after child pornography was found on an electronic device.

Police say the victim was under the age of twelve and someone forwarded the graphic photo to them.

A judge in Bangor heard arguments Friday in Dube's motion to suppress her confession.

Deputy District Attorney Mike Robert says her trial is expected to start in November and the judge indicated he would have a ruling on the issue by then.
