Skowhegan -
Court paperwork has now been filed in the case of a 10-year-old from Fairfield charged with manslaughter.
On Tuesday, the attorney general's office filed a juvenile petition in Skowhegan District Court. The 10-year-old will make her first court appearance on October 22nd.
She's charged in connection with the death of a three-month-old baby from Clinton. Police say the mother of Brooklyn Foss-Greenaway left her baby in the care of friend and co-worker, 30-year-old Amanda Huard of Fairfield, in July. Brooklyn later died at a local hospital.
The baby's mother said she was told Brooklyn had been suffocated, had bruises on her body and had ingested medication used to treat attention-deficit disorder.
