Fairfield -
One man is without a place to live after his home in Fairfield was destroyed in a fire Tuesday night.
According to the Fairfield Fire Chief, the man heard his smoke dectector go off just after 6:00 PM.
We're told he went outside and called 911. Crews arrived on scene just a few minutes later and found the home fully involved.
Fairfield, Waterville and Winslow firefighters were on scene for about three hours, but the house was a total loss.
No word yet on cause.
We're told the homeowner does have insurance.
