Police Say Two Newport Pharmacy Robberies May Be Related

Newport - Police say it appears the man who robbed a pharmacy in Newport Sunday could be the same person who also robbed it a month ago.

Newport's Police Chief says that's the direction the investigation is leading.

In both cases a man wearing sunglasses gave workers a note demanding prescription drugs.

The suspect from Sunday's robbery is described as a white man, in his 20's, about six feet tall with medium build.

He was wearing a Red Sox hat, a dark pullover sweatshirt with graphics on the front, dark jeans and wrap-around sunglasses.

The suspect from the August 16th robbery has a similar description.

Anyone with information on either robbery is asked to call Newport Police at 368-3263.
