Deputies: 58 Marijuana Plants Found at House in East Machias

East Machias - Two pot busts in Washington County.

Deputies say the found 58 marijuana plants and more than a pound of processed pot at a house in East Machias.

Vaughn Cummings, 52, was arrested and charged with marijuana cultivation. Janet Cummings, 51, was summonsed for the same thing.

In a separate search near the property deputies reportedly found nine more pot plants.

Leonard Wood, Jr., 34, was arrested and charged with marijuana cultivation. He was also charged for reportedly trying to hide the drugs when deputies arrived.

He knew he was breaking the law because he hid the plants. What he wasn't doing was anything wrong. As long as marijuana is used responsibly and regulated in the same method as cigarettes, without the nasty additives, I think it is alright. However, he did break the law.
