Newport -
For the second time in exactly one month, the Rite Aid pharmacy in Newport was robbed.
Authorities say a man walked into the store Sunday around 2 p.m. He gave workers a note, demanding prescription drugs.
The suspect did not show a weapon, according to police. He got away in a small silver car, most likely a General Motors make.
The store is located on the corner of Route 100 and Route 2.
The robber is described as a white man, in his 20's about six feet tall with a medium build.
He had scruffy beard growth, according to witnesses.
The suspect was wearing a Boston Red Sox baseball cap, dark pullover sweatshirt with graphics on the front of it, dark jeans and wrap-around sunglasses.
On August 16th, a man also described as six feet tall, robbed the pharmacy. Like Sunday's case, he too handed the pharmacist a note demanding drugs.
Anyone with information on either pharmacy robbery is asked to call Newport police at 368-3263.
